The conference, organized and financed by the OSCE Mission in Kosovo (OMiK) and the South East Europe Media Organisation (SEEMO) and financially supported by the Austrian Foreign Ministry, is the first of its kind in over ten years. "Such regional co-operation efforts are contributing to common understanding over the way ahead in establishing cross-boundary networks for programme exchanges and increase professional co-operation and mutual understanding," said Angela Tenbruck, Regional Media Co-operation Team Leader of the OSCE Mission's Democratization Department.
Participants will discuss a number of common topics of interest including the freedom of speech, editorial independence, the status of media - print, electronic and news agencies - in Serbia and Kosovo and issues of media development.
