Temporary Media Commissioner of Kosovo sanctions two dailies
PRISTINA 19 November 2002
PRISTINA, 19 November 2002 - The Temporary Media Commissioner (TMC) dismissed yesterday Bota Sot's belated appeal against the sanction of 17,500 euros, following the ruling of the Media Hearing Board (MHB) of 3 September 2002 in the cases of Xhavit Haliti and Sali Lajci v. Bota Sot. The MHB ruled that the daily Bota Sot had violated Regulation 2000/37 and its associated Code of Conduct.
In a separate decision, the TMC sanctioned the daily 24 Ore for 5,000 euros, following the MHB ruling of 25 September 2002 in the cases of Tahir Zemaj and Sadik Musaj. The MHB ruled that 24 Ore had violated Regulation 2000/37 and its associated Code of Conduct.
