The Tallinn Guidelines on National Minorities and the Media in the Digital Age is the latest addition to the OSCE HCNM thematic Guidelines and Recommendations. The role of the media and information technologies for conflict prevention is distilled in thirty-seven guidelines which outline, step-by-step, the measures needed to create spaces for pluralistic debate in diverse societies aimed at strengthening societal integration and resilience.
In line with the spirit of these Guidelines, the launch event is open for online participation: a digital platform will enable you, your colleagues, and all interested parties to follow the live-streamed discussions, engage with the discussants, and access all related materials.
The launch event is organized by the HCNM in co-operation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Estonia, and will take place in Tallinn on 13 February 2019. The OSCE High Commissioner on National Minorities, H.E. Ambassador Lamberto Zannier, will open the event and present the Tallinn Guidelines as part of a High Level Introductory Panel together with H.E. Kersti Kaljulaid, President of the Republic of Estonia, and H.E. Sven Mikser, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Estonia. The introductory panel will be followed by a lively, interactive expert discussion on best practices and challenges related to the role of the media and information technologies in diverse societies.
