By producing the Guide, the OSCE hopes to be able to contribute to raising awareness among the OSCE participating States and its Asian and Mediterranean Partners for Co-operation of the importance of more gender-sensitive labour migration policies that address the specific challenges female migrant workers face during all stages of migration.
The objective is to produce a practical policy tool that can be used by policy makers and parliamentarians in their work on labour migration policies. The Guide will draw on the work developed under the OSCE/IOM/ILO Handbook on Establishing Effective Labour Migration Policies (see link on the right) and contain specific examples of best practices, case studies and innovative models taken from origin as well as destination and transit countries.
The project is carried out in partnership between the Office of the Co-ordinator of OSCE Economic and Environmental Activities, the Office of the Special Representative and Co-ordinator for Combating Trafficking in Human Beings and the Gender Section of the OSCE Secretariat.
