OSCE Chairman-in-Office supports election assistance in Montenegro

LISBON, 14 August 2002 - The OSCE Chairman-in-Office today expressed his full support for the efforts of the OSCE Mission to the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, through its Office in Montenegro, as well as the technical experts of the OSCE's Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR), to lend support to the Montenegrin parliament in its review of legislation for the upcoming parliamentary elections, as well as future elections.
The Chairman-in-Office hopes that this assistance and advice will be accepted, thereby maximizing the likelihood that the electoral process will lead to elections that conform to well accepted international standards.
