Chairman-in-Office horrified by killing of KFOR soldier
BUCHAREST 12 April 2001
BUCHAREST, 12 April 2001 - The Chairman-in-Office of the OSCE, Romanian Foreign Minister Mircea Geoana, has expressed his shock and dismay about the shooting in Kosovo yesterday of a Russian KFOR soldier.
"I am horrified by this cowardly murder of an international peacekeeper. Nothing justifies such an attack against someone who is working in Kosovo as part of a mission to heal the wounds of war," said Mr. Geoana. "I wish to extend my condolences to the family of the victim, and I sincerely hope that the perpetrators of this crime will be caught and brought to justice."
