OSCE Chairman-in-Office condemns killings in Chechnya

WARSAW, 9 December 1998 - The OSCE Chairman-in-Office, Polish Foreign Minister Bronislaw Geremek strongly condemns the brutal killings of three nationals of the United Kingdom and one of New Zealand kidnapped in Chechnya. The Chairman-in-Office calls the relevant authorities to make every effort to bring to justice the perpetrators of this abhorrent crime. He conveys the sincere condolences and expressions of the deepest sorrow to the families of the victims and to the Governments of the United Kingdom and of New Zealand.
The OSCE Chairman-in-Office urges the relevant authorities to intensify their efforts to free without delay all remaining hostages and to ensure their safe return to their respective countries.
