OSCE Chairman-in-Office issues statement on crisis in Albania

COPENHAGEN, 12 February 1997 - The Chairman-in-Office of the OSCE, Danish Foreign Minister Niels Helveg Petersen issued the following statement today in Copenhagen:
The Chairman-in-Office of the OSCE wishes to express his deep concern about developments in Albania. The potential for a serious crisis is at hand. The Chairman-in-Office calls upon all sides involved to refrain from the use of violence and to respect the rule of law.
The Chairman-in-Office reiterates that the current crisis in Albania can only be solved by peaceful means and through dialogue between those involved.
