OSCE Chairman-in-Office welcomes Yugoslav acceptance of peace plan
ZAGREB 3 June 1999
ZAGREB, 3 June 1999 - The Chairman-in-Office of the OSCE, Norwegian Foreign Minister Knut Vollebæk, expresses his satisfaction that the Yugoslav authorities have accepted the conditions of the international community for a political settlement to the crisis in Kosovo. Mr. Vollebæk noted that a political solution now seems within reach. He emphasized, however, that the Yugoslav authorities must proceed without delay to practical implementation of the commitments they have undertaken.
Foreign Minister Vollebæk emphasized that the OSCE is ready to take on its share of the responsibility for the implementation of the peace plan, and that planning to that end is well under way.
