OSCE Chairperson condemns terrorist attack in Volgograd, sends condolences
LUXEMBOURG, 21 October 2013 – OSCE Chairperson-in-Office, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Leonid Kozhara today condemned a terrorist attack on a bus in the city of Volgograd in the Russian Federation.
“I condemn in the strongest terms this act of terror that resulted in the death and injuries of many innocent people,” Kozhara said. “I convey my sincere condolences to the families of the victims and wish a speedy recovery to the wounded.”
“This attack is another reminder that the international community should stand united in its response to terrorism, strengthening practical tools to counter this heinous crime,” said the OSCE Chair.
According to the preliminary official information, the explosion was a terrorist act and left at least six people dead and 28 injured.
OSCE Chairperson is in Luxembourg for the OSCE Troika – EU ministerial meeting.
