OSCE supports watercraft patrolling, mountain training for Kyrgyzstan’s Internal Troops

Officials of the Internal Troops of Kyrgyzstan’s Interior Ministry were trained in critical energy infrastructure protection at an OSCE-supported 10-day event which took place from 20 to 29 April 2012 at the Toktogul water power station in Kara-Kul town, Jalal-Abad province in southern Kyrgyzstan.
Ten participants, who help to protect critical energy infrastructure, improved their professional skills in watercraft and mountain patrolling. The training was organized within the framework of the programme of the OSCE Centre in Bishkek on the protection of critical energy infrastructure, and conducted with the use of alpinist equipment donated by the OSCE Centre, as well as a motor boat donated in 2010.
