OSCE Centre holds Police Open Day in Kyrgyzstan's Batken province
BATKEN, Kyrgyzstan, 20 May 2009- The OSCE Centre in Bishkek and the Batken Province Police Department organized a Police Open Day in Batken City today.
The event took place in the main square and was attended by students, journalists, representatives of civil and governmental organizations and community members.
"Trust and shared responsibility with the community are important for our work," said Alymbekov Baktybek, the chief of the Batken Province Police Department.
Police Open Days are being held for the first time in Batken Province. For this event, games and poetry and drawing competitions were held for local schoolchildren. The winners received prizes from the OSCE Centre and the Police Department. The event also included a concert by local singers, and participants had the chance to take a tour of police premises.
