OSCE Centre in Bishkek presents reference books to police investigators
BISHKEK, 7 May 2009 - The OSCE Centre in Bishkek presented the Kyrgyz Interior Ministry's main investigation department with reference books on preliminary investigation today.
The Ministry investigation department received 200 copies of the "Electronic Handbook for Investigators" in addition to the print copies. The electronic reference manuals are in the Russian and Kyrgyz languages, and include core legislation, samples of investigative materials and other documents to support police investigators in their daily work. The materials are for the use of all regional police departments.
"The specialized literature provided by the OSCE Centre will certainly help to increase the professional level and improve the work of the investigators," said Kubatbek Noruzbaev, Chief of the Main Investigation Department of the Interior Ministry.
The OSCE Centre in Bishkek paid for the books as part of a Police Reform Programme that aims to strengthen the institutional, operational and educational capacities of the Kyrgyz police.
