OSCE Centre in Bishkek hands over video conference equipment to Kyrgyz State Border Service
The OSCE Centre in Bishkek handed over the equipment used for the video conference to the Kyrgyz State Border Service. The ceremony was held during the simulation exercise “Bogot-Barrier 2015” conducted at the headquarters of the Kyrgyz border troops in Bishkek on 22 July 2015.
Ambassador Sergey Kapinos, the Head of the OSCE Centre in Bishkek and Colonel Duishenbiev Rayimberdi, Chairman of the Kyrgyz State Border Service signed the donation agreement. The official ceremony was held during the first phase of the simulation exercise aimed at working out co-ordination mechanisms to manage crisis situation at the borders.
Donated video conference equipment was used for the conduct of a teleconference between the Kyrgyz General Staff of the Armed Forces and the state border service unit in Batken oblast and showcased the units’ readiness to co-ordinate their actions during the second stage of the exercise.
"The OSCE is the largest regional organization with a comprehensive approach to security which contributes to maintaining security and stability in the region," said Ambassador Kapinos. It is reflected in strengthening cooperation among the OSCE - participating states in combating transnational threats and assisting border security agencies in protecting country’s frontiers, he said.
