OSCE Centre in Bishkek trains law enforcement agencies on combatting terrorism
A five-day training course on combatting terrorism, organized by the OSCE Centre in Bishkek in co-operation with the Anti-terrorism Centre of the State Committee on National Security of Kyrgyzstan, ended on 21 November 2014 at the Bakaev Institute in Bishkek.
Trainers from the Turkish National Police worked with some 20 specialists from the Anti-terrorism Centre, the Interior Ministry, the Bakaev Institute, the Border Service, and the State Service on the Execution of Punishment under the government of Kyrgyzstan.
The training course was aimed at providing participants with key principles on the fight against terrorism, strategy development and practices in crime prevention.
“The experience gained by participants will enable the relevant structures to develop and implement new, highly effective methods and technologies to combat various forms of terrorism in the early stages,” said Yury Padun, Senior Politico-Military Officer at the OSCE Centre in Bishkek.
This course was organized as part of the 2014-2015 agreement on joint training activities signed in January 2014 by the Anti-terrorism Centre of the Kyrgyz State Committee on National Security, OSCE Centre in Bishkek and the Turkish National Police.
