OSCE Mission launches essay and photo competition to promote human rights in Bosnia and Herzegovina
SARAJEVO, 28 October 2010 - The OSCE Mission to Bosnia and Herzegovina today launched an essay and photo competition for young people to promote human rights.
Citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina between the ages 18 and 30 are invited to take part in the competition, held to mark International Human Rights Day on 10 December.
The Mission invites competition particiants to express themselves on the theme: What do human rights mean to you? through essay or photo submissions. Essay writers can choose to answer one of two questions: How has the concept of human rights changed since 1948? and What do human rights represent today in Bosnia and Herzegovina?
The deadline for submissions is 19 November 2010. A jury comprising OSCE Mission staff and a professional photographer with expertise in human rights will select winners.
The top three submissions will receive prizes financed by the OSCE Mission to Bosnia and Herzegovina:
1st prize: computer and participation in an international summer school on human rights,
2nd prize: digital camera and participation in an international summer school on human rights,
3rd prize: an electronic book reader and participation in an international summer school on human rights.
