Conference promoting co-operation between parliaments to take place in Sarajevo

SARAJEVO, 22 September 2003 - Parliamentarians from throughout south-eastern Europe will attend a conference on the role of parliaments in human and economic development in south-eastern Europe in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, on 3 and 4 October.
The aim of the conference is to promote inter-parliamentary co-operation and a common approach to human and economic development in the region.
The event is being organized by the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) and the OSCE's Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR). Other participants will include experts from the Stability Pact for South Eastern Europe, the European Parliament and the European Commission.
