OSCE reorganizes political resource centres in Bosnia and Herzegovina
SARAJEVO 5 February 2001
SARAJEVO, 5 February 2001 - After a comprehensive post-election reorganization, the OSCE Mission to Bosnia and Herzegovina announced Monday the opening of new regional Political Resource Centers (PRCs) in Banja Luka, Sarajevo, Mostar and Tuzla, as well as local PRCs in Doboj and Ljubuski.
The OSCE is also preparing to open a new local PRC in Visegrad later this month. The new PRC structure will replace the existing network, which was temporarily closed after the November 2000 general elections.
"Whereas previously PRCs placed emphasis on political party training, now they will focus on gathering information in policy areas requiring the input and feedback of citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina, in order to make that information available to public officials," said OSCE Head of Mission Ambassador Robert L. Barry.
