Youth conference to be held in Sarajevo
SARAJEVO, 3 November 2000 - The OSCE Mission to Bosnia and Herzegovina is organizing the first Bosnia and Herzegovina Youth Conference to be held in Sarajevo. The purpose of the conference, which will take place on November 6-7, is to identify common ground and strengthen contact between youth political party branches and registered candidates with local youth NGOs.
The Head of the Democratization Department, Sverre Johan Kvale, will give the opening speech. Also in attendance will be the Secretary General of the European Youth Forum, the GONG Youth NGO from Croatia and CESID from the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia.
All media are kindly invited to cover the presentation of the conclusions of the conference, which will be take place at 16:45 hrs on November 7 in the Legislative Hall of the Federation House of Representatives (DPO Building), Hamdije Kresevljakovica bb, Sarajevo.

The OSCE established its present Mission to Bosnia and Herzegovina on 18 December 1995. In accordance with the General Framework Agreement for Peace (GFAP), the OSCE Mission activities are to: promote Democratization and the building of a vibrant civil society, foster the development of professional journalism and monitor the rights of journalists, monitor and advance the Human Rights situation, supervise the conduct of Elections, and encourage Regional Stabilization through arms control and confidence and security-building measures. The OSCE Mission continues to work closely with other international organizations and local institutions to implement the Dayton Peace Accords.
