Three candidates declared ineligible in Bosnia and Herzegovina
SARAJEVO 1 November 2000
SARAJEVO, 1 November 2000 -The Provisional Election Commission in Bosnia and Herzegovina has declared that three candidates are ineligible to stand for office in the 11 November general elections.
The candidates have been found in violation of Article 108 of the Provisional Election Commission Rules and Regulations, which prohibit illegal occupants from running for or holding office.
The following candidates for the general elections are removed for violations of Article 108 of the Provisional Election Commission Rules and Regulations governing the November 2000 general elections:
The candidates have been declared ineligible to stand as candidates for the forthcoming general elections due to their failure to vacate property they illegally occupy by the deadline stipulated in an administrative decision. Since their names cannot be removed from the ballots at this date, announcements of their ineligibility to run will be placed in polling stations, as was the practice in previous elections.
