They have been declared ineligible to stand as candidates for the forthcoming general elections due to their failure to vacate the property they illegally occupied within the deadline stipulated in an administrative decision. Though their names cannot be removed from the ballots at this date, announcements of their ineligibility to run will be placed in polling stations, as was the practice in previous elections.
Furthermore, Mrs. Sabira Cviko (SDP), was removed from appointed municipal office for violation of Article 7.16 a) of the PEC Rules and Regulations governing municipal elections, due to her failure to vacate the property she illegally occupied within the deadline stipulated in an administrative decision. The appointed municipal office she held will remain vacant until the SDP proposes a new, qualified person.
