Provisional Election Commission PEC removes mandates of three elected councilors for violation of rules 7.16 and 7.18
SARAJEVO 18 July 2000
SARAJEVO, 18 July 2000 - The Provisional Election Commission (PEC) removed the mandates of three councilors because of violations of rule 7.16 on illegal occupancy and rule 7.18 on incompatibility and conflict of interest.
The PEC removed the mandates of Snjezana Biljeskovic from the NHI in Dobretici and Ljubisa Krnjic from the SDS in Sekovici because they were found in violation of PEC rule 7.16. Ramadan Saric from the KCD BiH was found to be in violation of rule 7.18because he continued to work as director of the public company "GIP Ingrap Hadzici" whilst being a member of the Cantonal Assembly of Canton 9 and a councilor in the Municipal Council of Hadzici. The PEC removed Ramadan Saric's mandates both in the Assembly of Canton 9 and the Municipal Council Hadzici.
The PEC will award the mandates of these former councilors to the next qualified candidates on the list of their respective parties. The OSCE Mission to BiH will continue to check the status councilors' compliance with PEC rules 7.16 on illegal occupancy and rule 7.18 on incompatibility and conflict of interest. All elected councilors will continue to be subject to these rules and could be removed from office if found not to be in compliance.
