Roundtable discussion on Kazakhstan-OSCE co-operation held in Astana

A roundtable discussion dedicated to co-operation between Kazakhstan and the OSCE was held in Astana on 19 October 2012. The event was jointly organized by the OSCE Centre in Astana and the Academy for Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Some 50 students, academic staff, the academy’s management, and the Chairperson of the Foreign Ministry’s Analysis and Forecast Committee took part in the event.
The Academy’s Rector, the Director of the Academy’s Institute for Diplomacy, the Foreign Ministry representative, and the Head of the Centre in Astana spoke about regional security issues and Kazakhstan’s contribution to address new threats and challenges in the framework of the OSCE.
During the event the Head of the OSCE Centre signed a letter of intent on co-operation with the Academy in supporting the education and training of future professionals, providing expertise in the field of international policy and law, good governance, and inter-ethnic and inter-confessional studies.
