OSCE organizes study tour to Russia to enhance court and media relations in Kazakhstan
The issues of enhancing the interaction between the courts and the media in Kazakhstan were in the spotlight of an OSCE-organized three-day study tour to Russian Federation by a delegation from the Supreme Court of Kazakhstan, Almaty City Court and the Court Reporters Guild from 25 to 27 May 2016.
The study tour aimed at sharing the best practices in court-media relations, the methods of distributing court information, including the use of websites and social media networks, the media coverage of court hearings and in establishing a pool of professional court reporters.
The participants attended a Judges’ Council Commission meeting in Moscow, had meetings with representatives of the Russian Court Reporters Guild, and attended a meeting of the press service divisions of the Russian court system. They also engaged in an in-depth discussion and exchange of practices with 12 representatives of the Oblast Court Press Services of Russian Federation.
The event is part of the OSCE Programme Office’s long-standing efforts to promote the host country’s judicial reform efforts.
