OSCE supports seminar for law enforcement officers in Kazakhstan on investigating human trafficking cases
A two-day training seminar for law enforcement officers on investigative techniques and methods to counter trafficking in human beings is taking place in Almaty, Kazakhstan on 8 and 9 August 2014.
The seminar brings together more than 30 attendees, including representatives of non-governmental organizations working with human trafficking victims as well as international experts from Belarus and Italy. An expert from Kosovo is also taking part. Participants are learning about the legislative experience and good practices in combatting all forms of human trafficking and protection of victims as well as about preventing and combatting organ trafficking.
The seminar is co-organized by the OSCE Centre in Astana in partnership with Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Internal Affairs and the U.S. Embassy in Astana.
The event is part of the Centre’s effort to assist Kazakhstan in preventing and combatting trafficking in human beings.
