A three-day OSCE-organized training course on document security for Central Asian border service staff began on 11 March 2013 in Almaty, Kazakhstan.
The participants from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan will learn about document security, document production, security features, identifying false IDs and international profiling techniques. Experts from Austria and Lithuania will share their experiences with international border management and security practices.
The seminar was organized by the OSCE Centre in Astana in co-operation with the EU/UNDP Border Management Programme in Central Asia and Kazakhstan’s Border Service.
The seminar is part of the OSCE Centre in Astana's efforts to support Kazakhstan in sound border security management. In February, a similar training course was conducted for Kazakhstan’s Border Service in Shymkent.
