OSCE to present report on activities in Albania

TIRANA, 3 February 2003 - The Head of the OSCE Presence in Albania, Ambassador Osmo Lipponen, will hold a press conference tomorrow, 4 February, to present the outlines of the current OSCE activities in Albania.
The report is Ambassador Lipponen's first presentation to the OSCE Permanent Council on OSCE activities in Albania and the progress the country has achieved in its institutional development since October 2002, when he took up office.
The OSCE report focuses on co-operation with the Albanian Government, the restructuring of the Presence and its priorities in legal and judicial reform, border security, combating trafficking and organized crime, as well as on furthering the democratic processes, in particular through electoral reform and support to parliament.
Media representatives are invited to attend the press conference at the Rogner Europapark Hotel in Tirana, on Tuesday, 4 February 2003, at 10:00 a.m.
Ambassador Lipponen will address the OSCE Permanent Council in Vienna on Thursday, 6 February 2003.
