#UnitedCVE: How do we counter violent extremism?
Terrorism and the underlying spread of violent extremism are among the greatest challenges of our time. They are transnational in nature; no country is immune and no state can counter these threats alone.
Countering violent extremism requires everyone to mobilize and to co-operate at all levels. To address this need, the OSCE is rallying all its 57 participating States and 11 Partners for Co-operation behind an OSCE United in Countering Violent Extremism campaign (#UnitedCVE).
The campaign was officially launched on 30 June 2015 at the start of an OSCE-wide conference in Vienna on counter-terrorism. The conference brought together more than 300 experts from over 60 countries.
Here, some of the participants explain what are the factors driving violent extremism, and how we can effectively prevent terrorist radicalization.
