Enhancing Gender-Responsive Mediation
This guidance note is for mediators and professionals engaged in formal third-party mediations across the OSCE region and beyond. It note aims at raising awareness of how gender-responsive mediation can potentially lead to more sustainable agreements and proposes concrete measures for gender-aware interventions.

Perspectives of the UN & Regional Organizations on Preventive and Quiet Diplomacy, Dialogue Facilitation and Mediation
This report reflects the main issues discussed during a two-day workshop on “Preventive and Quiet Diplomacy, Dialogue Facilitation and Mediation – Best Practices from Regional Organizations,” held in Vienna, Austria on 6 and 7 December 2010. The Workshop brought together senior representatives from the UN and key regional organizations to foster closer co-operation and knowledge-sharing on preventive and quiet diplomacy, dialogue facilitation and mediation. Key issues addressed include: regional aspects of mediation, common challenges to mediation faced by regional organizations, good practices from regional organizations, as well as the operationalization of mediation support capacities.
Operationalising Mediation Support: Lessons from Mediation Experiences in the OSCE Area
This report reflects the main issues discussed during a two-day consultation on “Operationalising Mediation Support: Lessons from Mediation Experiences in the OSCE Area” held in Mont-Pèlerin, Switzerland, and was published in 2008 by the Geneva Centre for Security Policy. The consultation between the UN and the OSCE brought together senior-level mediators to focus on lessons learned from their respective mediation experiences in the OSCE area and also addressed regional aspects affecting mediation in the OSCE area.
