This manual provides guidelines for trainers in customs and border agencies and environmental inspectorates on how to teach about the detection and prevention of illegal transboundary movement of waste, ozone-depleting substances, and rare and endangered animal and plant species. The manual also contains general recommendations on teaching and practical exercises. Each copy is accompanied by a set of photos for exercises on waste identification and a CD with a volume of information on the aforementioned topics. Available in English and Russian.

This Report is intended for government authorities, nongovernmental organizations, human rights defenders and other persons interested in the issues of respecting human rights and liberties and detention conditions at Temporary Detention Facilities of Internal Affairs Bodies.

This compilation of the key OSCE documents was published on the occasion of the 35th anniversary of the adoption of the Helsinki Final Act, the 20th anniversary of the adoption of the Charter of Paris for a New Europe, the 20th anniversary of the adoption of the Copenhagen document 1990, and the 10th anniversary of establishment of the OSCE Office in Yerevan. It is not available in English.

This study carried out by the Armenian Chamber of Advocates with the support of the OSCE Office in Yerevan reviews the state and progress of implementation of judgments of the European Court on Human Rights (ECtHR) against Armenia, examines the conformity of national proceedings for re-opening court cases with the provisions of the European Convention on Human Rights, identifies legislative and institutional shortcomings and provides recommendations for further improvements. The information on 25 judgments covering the period until December 2010 is included.

This report documents findings from trials of individuals for genocide, crimes against humanity, and war crimes monitored by the OSCE Mission to Bosnia and Herzegovina at both the state and entity level between 2005 and 2010. It considers to what extent the framework for war crimes processing has served to bolster the delivery of justice in war crimes cases and the overall efficiency of the criminal justice system in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The 2010 Annual Report of the Special Representative and Co-ordinator for Combating Trafficking in Human Beings is divided in four parts and deals with different aspects of the phenomenon, policies, actions, and challenges deriving from trafficking in women, men, and children for many different exploitative purposes. Part I “Trafficking in Human Beings as Modern-Day Slavery” explores the multiple forms of trafficking and addresses them as severe human rights violations, serious transnational organized crime, and threats to the individual and State security. Part II “Joining Efforts to Tackle Trafficking in Human Beings” provides an overview of the work and internal co-ordination and co-operation further developed in 2010 by the OSCE institutions, structures and field operations. Part III “Stepping Forward: Challenges and Future Perspectives” concludes the report as a stand alone chapter by addressing four crucial areas that the OSR decided to focus on to advance the anti-trafficking action: prosecution and criminal justice response; protection of victims’ rights; prevention; and strengthening partnership. Part IV of the report lists the references and an Annex recording the conferences and events attended by the SR and her Office in 2010.

The purpose of this project is to evaluate the real conditions and short-term outlook on how to systemically involve labour migrants’ bank transfers in the economy of the Kyrgyz Republic as an investment resource. This publication is not available in English.
