A three-week training course on underwater security for divers of the Committee for National Security’s Border Service concluded on 23 July 2021 in Aktau, Kazakhstan.

The OSCE Border Management Staff College (BMSC) completed its 29th Staff Course for Women Leaders on 19 July 2021. The course was convened via video teleconferencing.

In the framework of the 29th Staff Course for Women Leaders, the OSCE’s Border Management Staff College (BMSC) organized a roundtable discussion on 9 July 2021 in-person and online about border security and management and the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The OSCE Programme Office in Dushanbe launched a four-week course in Khorog to enhance the professional capacities of Tajikistan’s Border Troops to effectively react to emerging threats that occur in border areas. The opening ceremony took place on 1 June 2021 with participation of high-level representatives from Tajikistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Tajikistan’s Border Troops and the OSCE Programme Office in Dushanbe.

Learning how to identify and stop imposters at a border crossing was the focus of an online OSCE training course held on 19 and 20 May 2021. Over 200 participants from 29 OSCE participating States and Partners for Co-operation took part in the course. They comprised members of the OSCE Border Security and Management National Focal Points (NFP) Network and selected representatives of border and customs services.

Twenty-nine officers of Border Troops of the State Committee for National Security of Tajikistan (Border Troops) completed an EU-funded course on sustained field operational capacity on 18 May in the Special Border Unit in the Spitamen district. The OSCE Programme Office in Dushanbe (OSCE) in co-operation with Tajikistan’s Border Troops organized the training course.

Border officers of Tajikistan’s Border Troops completed a three-week training course on operational planning on 13 May in Khujand city. The OSCE Programme Office in Dushanbe in co-operation with the Border Troops organized the course which was funded by the European Union.
