An international conference on “Business Integrity, International Standards, Regional Challenges and the way forward” on 16 and 17 December 2019 in Tashkent. The aim of the event was to introduce and discuss best international practices in business integrity and collective action in combating corruption. The event was organized by the OSCE Project Co-ordinator in Uzbekistan and financially supported by the Government of Germany.

Roundtable discussions on national and international good practices and challenges in engaging women in activities aimed at preventing violent extremism and other crimes among women took place in Tashkent and Ferghana on 10 and 12 December 2019, respectively. Members of the Senate of Oliy Majlis (parliament), representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan, civil society organizations and international experts attended the events.

TASHKENT, 14 November 2019- Judges of the highest criminal courts from 23 countries gathered for a two-day OSCE-wide conference on the role of the judiciary in combating trafficking in human beings that concluded today. The participants discussed current human trafficking-related challenges and ways to foster the implementation of OSCE commitments. Strengthening the role of the judiciary as a part of the criminal justice system as a way to effectively combat trafficking in human beings was also discussed.
