The President of the OSCE Court of Conciliation and Arbitration, Professor Emmanuel Decaux, addressed the Permanent Council on 19 May 2022 to present the Court’s activity report 2021.

The Bureau members of the OSCE Court of Conciliation and Arbitration concluded their visit to Stockholm, which was organized upon the invitation of Ambassador Carl Magnus Nesser, Director-General for Legal Affairs of the Swedish Ministry for Foreign Affairs, on 3 May 2022.

The OSCE Court of Conciliation and Arbitration has published its annual report for the year 2021. The reports gives an overview of institutional matters and the activities undertaken throughout the year, with a glimpse on financial and administrative matters.

The second student simulation of an arbitral tribunal under the Convention on Conciliation and Arbitration within the OSCE took place from 12 to 14 November 2021 in Ljubljana. The event was organized within the framework of the MUNLawS conference held by the Faculty of Law of the University of Ljubljana.

The Government of Sweden has renewed the mandates of or, alternatively, appointed new members to the Court for a mandate of six years starting in October 2021.

The Swedish OSCE Chairpersonship organized a seminar on 1 June 2021 to discuss the opportunities offered by the OSCE Court of Conciliation and Arbitration in the realm of conflict resolution within the OSCE. The event offered the opportunity to highlight the benefits of the OSCE Court and to describe its mechanisms and procedures. Panel discussions focused on how to overcome the current challenges for the OSCE Court to become fully activated.

On 24 March 2021, Emmanuel Decaux, President of the OSCE Court of Conciliation and Arbitration and Erkki Kourula, Vice-President, addressed the Committee of Legal Advisers on Public International Law of the Council of Europe (CAHDI) at its 60th meeting.
