Serbian OSCE Chairmanship’s work in resolving the crisis in and around Ukraine
Serbia took over the OSCE Chairmanship from Switzerland on 1 January 2015 with a pledge to rebuild trust across the OSCE region and confidence in order to create a positive agenda for the future.
“The situation in and around Ukraine continues to pose a serious threat to the stability of the region and beyond… It was crucial to invest all efforts to achieve a sustainable ceasefire and full cessation of hostilities,” said Serbian Foreign Minister and OSCE Chairperson-in-Office Ivica Dačić, in his address to the first OSCE Permanent Council of the year on 15 January.
The Serbian OSCE Chairmanship has been building on the work done the Swiss OSCE Chairmanship over 2014 to move towards a peaceful resolution to the crisis.
