OSCE supports roundtable on civil society anti-corruption monitoring
On 18 October 2023, the OSCE Programme Office in Dushanbe (Office) organized a roundtable event to present and discuss the findings and recommendations of four monitoring reports prepared by civil society national experts (two women, and two men). The event brought together 21 representatives (10 women, 11 men) from government institutions, civil society and international development partners.
The first two reports examined the implementation of the United Nations Convention against Corruption and the recommendations of the Istanbul Anti-Corruption Action Plan, while the other two focused on the National Anti-Corruption Strategy of the Republic of Tajikistan for the period up to 2030 and the related Action Plan in the areas of housing and land tenure, and the judicial system.
The participants discussed the findings of the reports and recommendations for improving the implementation of the aforementioned international standards and national anti-corruption programmatic documents.
In 2022-2023, the Office supported the development of the monitoring reports presented at the roundtable. The event itself was organized as part of the Office’s activities to support and strengthen the monitoring role of civil society by providing support and guidance for reporting on the implementation of the Anti-Corruption Strategy.
