The OSCE Programme Office in Dushanbe strengthened the skills of the officers of Tajikistan’s Defence Ministry (MoD) on explosive ordnance disposal. Train-the-trainer course on Explosive Ordnance Disposal (level 3) allowed the participants to acquired new knowledge and refresh their skills on how to detect, identify, recover, disarm and dispose unsafe explosive ordnance in minefields and battlefields.

KYIV, 16 February 2022 – Today over 100 representatives from the Ukrainian state authorities, think tanks, the donor community and international partner organizations met to create a co-ordination platform on implementing a joint strategic approach to preventing and combating the illicit trafficking in weapons, ammunition and explosives (WAE) in Ukraine.

Kyrgyzstan began the implementation of the new National Action Plan (NAP) of the Kyrgyz Republic on the implementation of United Nations Security Council Resolution (UNSCR) 1540 for 2022-2025, which has been developed throughout 2021 with the OSCE expert support and finally approved/adopted on 24 December 2021.

VIENNA, 8 December 2021 — The winners of the OSCE–Institute for Peace Research and Security Policy at the University of Hamburg (IFSH) Essay Competition: Conventional Arms Control and Confidence- and Security-Building Measures (CSBM) in Europe were announced today at a virtual award ceremony held during an OSCE Forum for Security Co-operation (FSC) meeting organized by the Austrian FSC Chairmanship.

Through two working sessions on 2 and 3 November and 19 November, the OSCE Mission to Montenegro organized a workshop dedicated to designing a public outreach campaign, to raise awareness on the dangers of misuse and proliferation of small arms and light weapons.

The OSCE Programme Office in Dushanbe supported a review meeting on the implementation of Tajikistan’s National Action Plan in the framework of UN Security Council Resolution 1540 on Non-Proliferation of Weapons of Mass Destruction.
