OSCE Programme Office in Dushanbe and Tajikistan’s Interior Ministry convey a meeting to promote women’s role in police

The OSCE Programme Office in Dushanbe (the Office) organized a two-day roundtable discussion on the role of women in law enforcement agencies with a focus on empowering women in the police sector. The event, co-organized with Tajikistan’s Interior Ministry and the Japan International Co-operation Agency, took place on the outskirts of Dushanbe on 12 and 13 March.

Twenty Tajik border officers complete the first round of OSCE-EU organized operational planning course

Twenty border officers from Tajikistan’s Border Troops completed a three-week operational planning course on 5 March 2021 in the Hamadoni district of the Khatlon region. The OSCE Programme Office in Dushanbe completed a capacity-building training course on winter search and rescue for 18 representatives of Tajikistan’s Committee of Emergency Situations and Civil Defence (CoESCD) on 28 January 2021. The three-week course aimed at enhancing the rescuers’ skills and capacities in the area of search and rescue operations in an avalanche area as well as the recovery of victims after an avalanche in challenging winter conditions
European Union and OSCE support the start of construction works at Tajikistan’s Committee of Emergency Situations and Civil Defense Training Centre

High-level representatives from Tajikistan’s Committee of Emergency Situations and Civil Defense (CoESCD), the OSCE Programme Office in Dushanbe and the European Union Delegation to Tajikistan participated in the official start of renovation work on the CoESCD Training Centre on 19 January 2021 in Karatag, Shahrinav district. The renovation will turn the CoESCD Training Centre into a facility providing training where the Committee will be able to strengthen the capacity of responders on how to react to natural disasters in border regions.
