OSCE Mission to Moldova organizes third Human Rights Club in Tiraspol to discuss civil documents
The OSCE Mission to Moldova organized its third event in a year-long series of Human Rights Clubs for lawyers from both banks of Dniester/Nistru River in Tiraspol on 21 October 2016. Thirty-eight participants discussed securing civil documents for their clients as well as the rights and responsibilities of document holders.
During the event legal practitioners reviewed questions their clients had encountered when applying for civil documents, such as birth certificates, residence permits and inheritance documents. The discussion focused on how lawyers can work with authorities in order to retrieve necessary information for their clients and resolve these issues in a timely manner.
"Today’s meeting contributed to mutual understanding and trust among practising lawyers on both banks of the Dniester/Nistru River. Furthermore, we benefited from exchanging information on how to protect our respective clients’ rights more effectively," said practising lawyer Veaceslav Turcanu.
This event is part of a year-long project that facilitates the exchange of experiences between lawyers from both banks of the Dniester/Nistru River and supports their professional development.
