Personal representatives of Armenian and Azeri Presidents held Nagorno-Karabakh talks in Prague
PRAGUE, 15 May 2002 - On the instructions of Presidents Robert Kocharian of Armenia and Heydar Aliyev of Azerbaijan, their personal representatives, Deputy Foreign Minister Tatoul Markarian of Armenia and Deputy Foreign Minister Araz Azimov of Azerbaijan, met in Stirin, outside Prague, from 12 to 15 May to discuss issues related to settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
The talks were convened and chaired by the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairmen, represented by Ambassador Nikolai Gribkov (Russia), Ambassador Philippe de Suremain (France) and Ambasssador Rudolf Perina (USA).
At this first meeting, the sides engaged in useful discussions. The Personal Representatives will report on these talks to their Presidents, and future meetings will be agreed upon accordingly.
