The 2015 Human Dimension Seminar (HDS) will discuss the challenges and priorities that the National Human Rights Institutions (NHRIs) face in the protection and promotion of human rights, promoting the establishment of strong and independent NHRIs, as well as the building of capacity of existing institutions.
The Meeting is open for the representatives of the participating States, the OSCE at large, OSCE institutions and field operations, inter-governmental organizations, as well as civil society actors in OSCE participating States and for academics.
The recommendations may be addressed to participating States, the OSCE at large, OSCE institutions, the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights, OSCE field operations, other inter-governmental organizations, as well as civil society actors in OSCE participating States.
The meeting will be interpreted into the six official OSCE languages: English, Italian, French, German, Russian and Spanish.
Agenda:
The Seminar will focus on the following four areas for discussion: 1) Establishing and Strengthening Effective and Independent NHRIs; 2) Good practices in the work of NHRIs; 3) Cooperation between NHRIs and other actors; and 4) Challenges and priorities for strengthening NHRIs in the OSCE area. Registration of participants:
Online registration for all participants is available at http://meetings.odihr.pl. Participants wishing to attend are requested to register preferably by 20th May 2015. The registration will also be available after the date; however, early registration would be highly appreciated to facilitate the preparation of the HDS.
Participation in the Seminar is free of charge, although all travel and accommodation costs should be borne by participants. The following documents might facilitate accommodation arrangements: ‘List of chosen hotels in Warsaw”, “Hotel special rates”, “Booking form” at the Sofitel hotel where the meeting takes place.
Registered participants will be able to collect their badges at the Seminar’s venue as of Monday, 1 June 2015, from 8 a.m.
Side Events:

Side events may be held over the course of the Seminar. Institutions and organizations wishing to organize a side event are requested to register and book the slot at their earliest convenience as the system is based on the ‘first come, first served principle’. To book a side event, please read the instructions (Side Event Information), then register in the ODIHR Registration System (http://meetings.odihr.pl.) and proceed with an on-line booking the Side Event Registration/Booking. The booking system will be open on Monday, 11th of May, at 12.00 (CET) and will be closed on Thursday, 21st of May, 23:59 (CET). No bookings will be accepted after this date.
