OSCE Chairperson-in-Office Kurz and OSCE Secretary General Zannier strongly condemn targeting of innocent civilians in London terrorist attacks
VIENNA, 4 June 2017 – The targeting of innocent civilians in indiscriminate acts of violence is unacceptable and never justified, said OSCE Chairperson-in-Office and Austria’s Foreign Minister Sebastian Kurz and OSCE Secretary General Lamberto Zannier today following the terrorist attacks in London. They offered their condolences to the families of victims and wished a quick recovery to the injured.
“I condemn in the strongest terms these attacks on innocent people enjoying their Saturday evening in central London as an attempt to instil fear in our societies,” said Kurz. “We will stand together to protect our open societies, our way of life and our common values, and increase international co-operation to counter all forms of violent extremism and terrorism.”
Secretary General Zannier said: “I am shocked and outraged at the terrorist attacks in London. Instead of reacting as the terrorists want, we must commit ourselves to standing together in countering terrorism and violent extremism. The OSCE is sparing no efforts in this common endeavour.”
