OSCE Academy in Bishkek starts new academic year
BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, 3 September 2007 - The OSCE Academy in Bishkek today began its 2007/2008 academic programme in political science, admitting 23 students from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan.
They were selected from some 600 applicants and will study for the next fourteen months under the local faculty staff and two international fellows, Dr. Fredrick Fawn (University of St. Andrews, Scotland) and Dr. Maxim Ryabkov (Central European University, Budapest), who will teach classes on political theory and international relations.
The OSCE Academy in Bishkek was designed to promote and enhance the Organization's principles and values in Central Asia by providing a forum for professionals and students the study of international relations, comprehensive security, democratization, the rule of law and human rights.
