The OSCE Programme Office will support a two-day training seminar on the water metering topic for some 25 students from Kazakhstan’s five leading academic institutions in Kyzylorda, Kazakhstan. The participants will have an opportunity to improve their knowledge on the water management principles by, inter alia, acquainting with the water metering installations and equipment, operated at the Kyzylorda hydro facility. As a follow-up to the training seminar the students will be also offered an opportunity to develop and defend their master’s theses on the presented topics under the guidance of the International Fund for Saving the Aral Sea Executive Directorate in the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The event builds on the Office’s activities targeting to enhance the capacity and raise awareness on the sustainable water management and the earlier established Kyzylorda Training Centre for the Aral-Syrdarya Basin Water Council in 2012.
