OSCE Centre in Ashgabad reiterates confidence in staff

ASHGABAD, 21 June 2006 - Following recent press reports mentioning the name of a staff member of the OSCE Centre in Ashgabad, the Head of the Centre wishes to reiterate his full confidence in the staff of the Centre. The OSCE Centre in Ashgabad has been carrying out its activities since January 1999 in a transparent and accountable manner, in accordance with its mandate. Its aim is to improve the authorities' capacity to uphold Turkmenistan's OSCE commitments, and to develop the country's democracy, market economy and civil society.
